Hello, I was looking to install Vista on my dell Inspiron 600m laptop. I
currently have 384MB RAM, a CD/DVD combo drive, and a ATI Radeon 9000
graphics card in the laptop. I know I have to increase the RAM.

I read on the Vista page that the RC1 version will only be good til June
1st, 2007. Does that mean that after that date, I won't be able to use it
anymore? Plus, I plan on buying the Vista RC1 DVD from microsoft, but since
that has RC1 on it, is there another version out with the latest build since
I just read that people have a newer version of Vista RC1 on their PC that
they downloaded. Do I have to buy the current RC1 DVD then go online and
install the latest build or will the DVD have it already?

Thanks.

terry:

All existing versions of Vista are evaluation versions and will expire
on or before June 1 2007. This includes the RC1 DVD that you can "buy"
from Microsoft. To have Vista permanently you will have to purchase a
retail copy (available in January, maybe...). You will probably be able
to upgrade your evaluation version to the retail version, but personally
I would not do this.

Do not install Vista on the Inspiron if that is your primary computer. Just
don't. Especially not on a laptop you rely on day to day.
