Vista Issue

I am editing a wmv file - just taking off the first 2 min and i cant do it in
vista. It doe not let me edit at all - do i need to convert the file? I can
edit the clip in XP but when i go tu publish it, it says it takes 1576843
min. I let my machine run all night and the publish bar was still on 0%.
its a 58 min movie but still... What can I do?

What application are you using to do the editing? Have you tried bringing
the file into Windows Movie Maker and doing the edit there? Publishing the
file? How? To where? Over what kind of internet connection, if any?

I am using movie maker. So - it wont even let me do edits at all with Vista,
and i can edit with XP but again - very very long publishing time. I am
trying to publish it to my machine, and i have good internet connectivity but
its not being ued for this. Got any ideas?
