Hi, I seem to have some issue(s) going on with Vista and Im just unsure on
whether this is a post virus (no alerts on scanners but who knows) issue or
if I have somehow done something weird without my knowledge. My sidebar on
Vista went blank about 2 days ago, I am unable to load any gadgets at all
even after downloading new ones. I also cannot get the windows update screen
to open and go anywhere, it opens and immediately shuts. As well, I have
just had a few errors come on in regards to needing administrator rights to
do this task, but I AM the administrator and only user on this comp. Anyone?
Dimension's name was given to me, but I will take anyones help! Any ideas?
So frustrated. I do have the system recovery disk from initial setup so will
use it if needed. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a virus.

Did you try using Safe Mode and update Windows from there?

Cheers
