Did you ever register your Vista operating system? You have some time (weeks
I think) once you first activiate/use your OS to regster it or else it shuts
off. Since I always register immediately I don't know how it manifests, but
it soulds like that might be what you are experiencing.

By 'register' I mean did you ever go to a Microsoft website and type in that
key to officially register the OS? If not, I'll bet that is what you are
experiencing...

Ain't WGA grand? Sick of this crap? Try Ubuntu, a FREE Open Source
operating system that has none of this "anti piracy" crap. Check it out
at www.ubuntu.com/

As far as keeping Vista, you need to call MS to get your paid for copy
of Vista reactivated.

Registration is not required. ACTIVATION is required.

Gosh, following all those instructions, downloads and installs ought to
get him back to work today. Not!

Every time you post some "help", Carey, Vista looks worse and worse.

The solution offered takes three minutes to perform.
Your ridiculous alternative illustrates exactly how poor
and irrelevant your suggestions are to those looking
for a quick and viable solution.

Go peddle your "open sores" Linux software somewhere
else. I understand the Linux newsgroups have tens of
thousands of unhappy Linux users who need help....badly.

I don't think WGA is really an issue here, the point is, if you know you
purchased Windows Vista and Microsoft Office genuinely, whats to worry? Even
if you have problems activating or downloading WGA based products and
services on Microsoft Downloads, the problem is most likely rectifiable, you
can contact Microsoft through a number of channels such as these newsgroups,
by phone and they will sort out the matter.
