vista key is used by somone

i upgraded my computer n wiped the hdd after reinstalling vista i now get
told my key in invalid coz its aloredy in use ... i know it it by me .....
any ideas id rather swop back to linux than buy a new key

Hi Adam,

Microsoft still thinks your product key is being used on the old
computer setup since it is tied to the hardware. Doing a phone
activation will allow it to be tied to your new setup and be activated
again.

Um, the faulty software known as kill switch WGA "thinks" that you're
running pirated software if you fart sideways. False positives from WGA
are okey dokey with MS fanboys. People who think for themselves,
however, consider it to be an unreasonable inconvenience and an insult.
