Okay, so I've been working on this since 3 in the afternoon. It's now
oclock. I've tried everything I know about
I'm trying to install Windows Media Player onto my computer, but it'
not working. This is not the first time this has happened. About 3 week
ago, I tried to install pictures from my email onto the computer, but i
didn't download (I had to send them to photobucket...
This is what happens -> I click the downloadable link. It show
everything, and then it starts to download. It finishes downloading, i
shows up the "copying file" screen, and when I go to the location, it'
not there! :sarc: ... I don't know why this is
I do indeed have AVG, and I've read somewhere that must be the cause
Also, I keep receiving this message saying Prevelance Reporter ha
stopped working, and must be closed, or something like that, but it ha
"slowed down" lately. It use to be every 5 minutes, now it's just like
times a day

So please please help. I have a huge headache, I haven't ate anythin
yet. Itunes works, I'm listening to music on it. I need WMP for my ne
phone, to upload music. Thank you

Yeah, I saw that somewhere else as well, but I don't know how to d
that

I went into Windows Firewall, and then to allow access to a progra
(that part), and I didn't see Prevelance Reporter anywhere. And I don'
know how to add it

Ok, thank you. I just did what the website said. I added it onto th
firewall, and pressed okay, and now I guess I can download the program
Or do I have to do something else

Sorry, I might sound dumb. I don't know much about computers.

*It didn't work....

I tried to redownload Windows Media Player 11 for Vista, and it did th
samething it did to me before. I tried to save the setup, and it didn'
save onto my desktop. I tried to just open it, not install the setup
and it didn't come up

I'm getting tired of this...

Yes, it has stopped appearing. But I don't know 100%, because it doesn'
show up as much as it use to

But for now, nothing is coming up

Get up out of the chair and go get something to eat.

Windows Media Player 11 is already installed if you are using Windows Vista.

But I have a question - Windows Media Player isn't working, which isn'
usual. What can be a reason for this? I did do system restore around
oclock today, to find that it hasn't been working for about a month now
so I can't trace back to what I have done.... When I click it, it say
"...Windows Media Player is not a valid Win32 application"

I think this is the first you mentioned the system restore - or maybe
it's just late for me - lol.

I have some work for you to do.

If you would, go ahead and enter your system specs in the lower left
window.

Get elevated command prompt. Run C: sfc /scannow

Look at your device manager and see if there are any problems.

Look at your Windows logs and look for problems.

Can you download software in safe mode?

Do you have SP2 installed?

Please let me know what you find out.
