Hi

I have purchased Vista from a local vendor. I have installed with the serial
number or key and activated it online.

Now my hard disk is full & i want to repartition the hard disk and reinstall
the OS - Vista again on the same machine.

The question is if I activate it online again, is it treated as two
licenses? Will there be any problems & issues related to Licensing??

Please let me know.

Regards,

Phani Kumar

You will probably just have to activate by phone - follow the instruction on
the phone and in the wizard that will give you the number to call.

Why, if it's on the same machine? Is Vista's "anti-piracy" program so
flawed that it can't remember what machine it's installed on? I mean, XP
had no problem remembering if it was being reinstalled on the same
machine, why can't Vista?

Just to keep everyone happy and to fully qualify my last response - you may
be able to activate again over the Internet as you did before.
You may be required to activate via telephone in which case just follow the
activation wizard and telephone automated processes until you get to speak
to a person who will provide the activation details you require.

Another suggestion if your installing it on the same machine, instead of
reinstalling, use a program like Acronis Trueimage home and back it up.
When you have the new hard disk in place or repartitioned (not exactly sure
what your are doing but works the same either way) you can restore and
shouldn't have to worry about activation at all...
