I understand it's not going to sleep, but have you confirmed yo
disabled the power settings? Check the bios as well?

1. Click Start, type gpedit.msc and press Enter
2. Locate Local Computer Policy -> User Configuration -
Administrative Templates -> System -> Power Management
3. Set the state of “Prompt for password on resume fro
hibernate / suspend” as “Not Configured”
4. Open Control Panel -> Power Options -> Require a password o
wakeup. Choose Don’t require a password and click Save Changes

Are you the only user? If not, a group policy could force this

I think the best way for you is to reset your windows password. Th
Windows password Reset
can solve all your problem within a few minutes. Importantly,No need t
call a technician, no need to re-install anything, and you certainl
don't need to reformat

Fix the simple things you are using system restore :sarc::sarc::sarc:?
Even if you don't know where exactly in registry system store settings
there is way to reset all security settings to default 'How do I restore
security settings to the default settings?'
