I'm using Vista Home Basic x32 sp2.
About a week ago I added memory to my system. I had 1gb and I
purchased 3gb DDR memory sticks. (I only have 3 slots otherwise I would have
gotten 4)
I ran Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool twice and it reported no errors.
When I select an item in my start menu the system locks up for 20
to 30 seconds then I'll get the 'Explorer has stopped responding' - End Task
and Cancel.
When I click cancel it seem to remedy itself but this seem to occur
frequently.
It seems to occur when my mouse pointer pauses over an item, not a folder.
It also occurs when I try to drag an item to a different location on the
start menu.
When it happens I hear a program opening (I have an event sound for the open
program event)
Don't get me wrong my system performance has increased much since adding the
memory.
Any idea why this would happen?
