How much RAM??? 2GB recommended should be changed to minimum HDD usually
get over-used when there is not enough RAM.

Good luck!

More likely to be the indexing service. Turn it off, I have.

Nope, that's not it. I have 2 Gig of RAM and shut off indexing service
as well as just about everything else I could safely shut off.

I'd really like MS to figure this thing out.

It's NOT a Microsoft problem or everyone here would have the same
complaint.

Capice?

It's something about YOUR setup... it might even be your antivirus
program trying to run every time you boot.

You need to run MSCONFIG and shutdown startup programs one-by-one and
then reboot to see if any of them being stopped helps the situation.

Thanks Nona,

But I have shut off just about everything I can shut off, as I've
stated in earlier posts.

And it IS a microsoft problem if they ship out an operating system that
requires the average user to spend countless hours in frustration
searching for a solution to a problem that shouldn't exist in the first
place.

You wouldn't accept this kind of annoyance in a new a car or even a new
pair of shoes, so why should I accept that my new laptop is so annoying?
Do they not have enough people there who can figure it out?

Capiche?
