Vista Messenger 81000306

I have installed vista RC1, and downloaded Live messenger using the provided
link in the vista start menu. But it will never connect for me. Returning an
error number of 81000306. My connection to .net serive is fine. I have the
messenger set correctly under exceptions in the windows firewall. And I can
connect to web messenger fine as well.

I am having the same problem. I have a clean installation of RC1. My email
and password are correct. I allowed for Messsenger in the Windows Firewall
and I even tried turning it off but I get the exact same message as you do.

I notice that nobody has replied to you. Hmm I need help on this because I
convinec my wife to try Vista but she misses Messenger and well not good!!

I've got just the same problem.

everything works perfect (update of lavasoft, ....)
only the Live Messenger doesn't want to work.
always Returning an
error number of 81000306.

Internet and other app works fine.

I already tried:
- Disable Firewall
- Installed Windows Messenger 7.5 also don't work
- Replaced the network cable from my A8N-SLI board to a extern USB Topcom
adaptor internet works - live messenger don't

My router is a Wireless Webr@cer 1154G+.

On Windows XP (32 and 64 bit) works everything perfect!

How can we fix this problem.
