vista mic wont work HELP HELP

LOGITECH head set wont work on vista ,

will not recognize being pluged in ,from
the back port or front ones on panel .need help driving me crazy did
everything i could thing of and nothing, speakers work good but mic not,
tested head set and it works good on other pc but not on vista, maybe
ports not working
