VISTA MICROPHONE STOPED WORKING WORKS IN XP

WHEN I RIGHT CLICK SPEAKERS AND TRY MIKE, IT LOCKS UP COMPUTER. WORKED OK
TILL NOW. PROGRAMS DO NOT SEE ANY MIKE. OK IN XP.

To be fair though he has just said his mic isn't working. I expect
after several hours of frustration with the damned thing he's entitled
to shout a bit and probably still gets the feeling nobody's listening

Irv, do you mean it worked until now in XP and you just switched to
Vista, or do you mean that it worked okay until now in Vista but has now
quit? Did it ever work in Vista I guess is the question.

If so have you changed anything at all, or downloaded any software or
updates for the sound card?

I have a dual boot and mike worked in XP. I downloaded 6251_Vista_apo and it
upgraded complete program from Realtek and all is working again.
