Vista-Mouse freeze when switching users

Home Premium, Pre-installed by Dell at purchase, not installed by me or an
upgrade-USB optical mouse-Dell E521, AMD Duo Core +5500, 2GB RAM-Cursor
occasionally freezes when switching users, at user-select screen. I'm able
to use keyboard to navigate down to "switch-user" and enter, then mouse will
work again. I don't know if I've supplied enough info, but any suggestions?

I have an HP system and it does exactly the same thing when switching
users - time for XP or a MAC.. POS MS>>>

I also have this problem. I.e. Change user results in USB mouse stop
working. Unplug/plug back in resolves it, but its a pain. I'm als
using a HP (Pavilion). Vist Home Premium 32

I have the same problem too with my HP pavillon dv6868ca, vista home premium
32. It happens when I switch users without logging off first. No problem when
I logoff first before I switch users.

When I try to switch from administrator account to guest or secondary
account the screen just goes blank. All I see is a blank background. No
icons, no taskbar. HP Pavilion a6219h. Please someone give me a
solution. Thanks.

I've a custom build machine and XP Pro installed on it. And have exactly
the same issue with Microsoft Wireless Mouse & Keyboard set.
While switching users, mouse stops working but keyboard works.

Did you find any solutions?

I have the same problem with my HP Pavilion Notebook. I have to resea
both USB cables to my mouse AND keyboard each time I switch users
