I have a Very Powerfull Processor, an E8400 3.6 GHZ and after
installed updates when i move my mouse on my desktop my explorer.ex
process SHOOTS UP to 11 percent CPU usage its very unnecessary, on xp i
stayed at 0 percent, Anyone know how to fix this? Whenever i move m
mouse on my desktop explorer.exe uses anywhere from 5-11 percent CPU
Its strange because if i move my mouse over firefox the firefox.exe cp
usage goes high to. same thing with ie7. Basically anything i move m
mouse over gets 11-15 percent CPU usage, its very unnecessary, an
fixeS

Do you have any problems other than the CPU usage factor indicator? In
other words, is this a problem?

The fix is to pay more attention to your work and less attention to the CPU
meter.

It's normal. Idling, Vista uses 2%-5%, so having it use a little more when
you are mousing isn't unusual. It's not going to affect your workflow. Your
processor has lots of power to spare.

I wonder what the cost of that wasted CPU time really is? In other
words I suspect that you are getting a meaningless read out as it is
displaying an instantaneous % which may last only a micro second and not
only have no material effect of your use of the machine but is meaningless
in real life.
