Hey All, im in a situation where i have to replace my work pc in
hurry, im looking into vista ultimate, but i cant seem to find anyon
who knows the answer to the following questions:

* does the OEM version of ultimate come with IIS7 or does it require a
upgrade to the regular edition??
* will the Flash CS4 developement environment run on the 64bit versio
of ultimate? the system spec on the adobe website says it is ceritifie
32 bit - does that mean it wont run on 64 or that they dont support i
on 64??
* is it true to say that device drivers are the biggest barrier t
software compatability with 64

any help greatly received

1. Yes, but it will still be limited to 10 simultaneous connections because
it's not a Server O/S. If you really want to run a webserver, use a Server
O/S. IIS on either XP or Vista is really only a platform on which to test
pages.

2. CS3 runs fine on Ultimate 64 bit, so I'm presuming CS4 will also do so.
It's the application that is certified 32 bit. There are no 64 bit
applications available - yet, but they all seem to run find on a 64 bit O/S.

3. Having installed Vista Ultimate 64 bit on several different PCs, and
both Server 2003 and Server 2008, it can be a PITA to find drivers but I'm
happy to report that ALL devices in ALL 64 bit PCs are working just fine.
The most awkward to find was a fingerprint reader for a M200 Toshiba
notebook, but upek.com took care of that. Put it this way, it's a lot
easier with Vista and Server 2008 than it was with XP x64 and Server 2003
R2.

The BIG advantage of 64 bit O/Ses is that you're not stuck with 3gb of RAM.
My Toshiba notebooks have 4gb and my Server 2008 and Ultimate desktop both
have 8gb. 8gb works great for PhotoShop and Premiere etc.

I think that's a rash assumption when Adobe software is involved :-)
