Vista will not wake from sleep mode

When I installed a fresh copy of Vista Ultimate 64-bit, I was able to get it
to sleep fine, but a day or so later, I am no longer able to make it sleep.
The problem is that I have no way of waking it from sleep mode. I have to
hold the power down to fully turn it off. What is the solution here?
