Hi all, I'm pretty dense when it comes to computers so please can yo
reply in a way I will understand

I bought a Medion WIM 2180 notebook pc running windows vista hom
premium a few months ago. My boyfriend of the time advised agains
having Windows updates turned on as it can make vista go wrong. As such
I haven't yet installed any windows updates. Just looking for advis
really on the pros and cons of having windows updates turned on, if
should be doing updates or if it will just fill my laptop full o
rubbish that makes it run slower, or if I should turn them on fo
security n such like. If i update manually instead of it automaticall
updating, how do I know which ones are ok and which ones could caus
problems

Sorry but computers really are a foreign language to m
