My Vista Home Premium has been operating fine for 9 months. Now, for
some reason, only the current day's automatic restore point is being
saved. I am not dual boot and am not running any Symantec apps.
Register Settings under ...\CurrentVersion\SystemRestore:
RPGlobalInterval set to 86,400 seconds (Dec)
RPLifeInterval set to 2,592,000 seconds (dec)
DiskPercent set to 5 (dec) on 132 GB drive
<vssadmin list shadowstorage> on system drive gives:
407MB Used, 666MB Allocated and 2GB Maximum
I can create multiple manual restore points, which do show up on the
list of restore points. But, the next day, only that day's automatic
point is listed.
I have determined that I cannot find <Vista Restore Services> anywhere
in a list of Vista Services. Task scheduler and Remote Procedure Call
services are running.
I see a lot of System Restore issues listed in the various fora, but
have not seen one that reflects it working, but only displaying one
restore point.
Cleanmgr.exe, is running weekly on Windows scheduler, but when run
manually from the scheduler does not delete manual restore points I
created for testing.
Any Ideas?
