I have finnaly bit the bullet and installed Vista Ultimate. I have only 1 issue and that is that i can't get IE protection to work, However, I don't see this as a big issue since I do have a Router, Firewall, Antivrus, ect....

Speed. I have not noticed any time of slowdown, In fact my laptop seems to have sped up a bit. I love the Dictation (Speech recognition).

Now don't think I love microsoft, because I hate the fact that they charge so much for their software. They rush on their OS etc...

If Microsoft would take their time to develop an operating system from scratch and instead of paying for upgrades (New Versions), they charge a yearly subscription fee of say ($50.00) and when new software was released you could get it if your subscription was paid in full, i believe Microsoft would make alot more money and not have to worry so much about Piracy.

Just imagine that they already have this program in place, but it cost more
than $50.00. ;^)

Interesting feedback. I would note that if you throw out the existing Win32
codebase and develop Win32++ from scratch, you would do fascinating and
probably bad things with application compatibility. =\

There have been several articles about this issue and to the best of my knowledge Microsoft is seriously considering offering this in the future.

You mean worse that Microsoft crap like Movie Maker already does?

This piece of junk is the only software I've seen that's dump enough
to say it can't play the file after it's been playing it for twenty
minutes and obviously has opened it by displaying a thumbnail.

More genius Redmond programmers I guess.

ROTFLMAO!

The willingness demonstrated by users like you to accept a defective product
is the reason Bill Gates and his merry men do things the way they do.

If you bought a new car and GM or Ford said "We know the brakes don't work
and neither does reverse, but hang in there and we'll eventually issue fixes
for those problems", how long would you stand for it? Why should M$ be held
to a lower standard by consumers than any other provider of any other
product?

Who said the product is defective? You? Who are you?

That is the most conspiratorial ass-umption I've heard all day...LOL!

So you think a car is like a computer software OS?
Well, therein lies your problem bubba!

Why should M$ be held

Like which other software OS that has absolutely no bugs?
Name one?

What's your interest in this? Are you throwing out rumored problems in an
attempt to get things better, or are you just throwing out bogus comments to
amuse yourself? =)

Sounds like it's run into a file corruption or other file parsing issue at
that point. I could get that to happen in almost any multimedia playback
application, but then again I work in multimedia. I don't know what fancy
strange clip you have that would be expected to behave normally. If you've
got some actual problem here, it'd be great to know the steps and have
access to the rumored clip that exhibits this behavior.

Malformed clips aren't supported nor supportable, though.

No, Microsoft. If twits like you don't think so, then you have no
concept of the purpose of issuing Service Packs and security updates.
