When I open Outlook 2007 (with Vista Home Premium) and click on new email I
get the following message: "The Add-in "FaxExtension"
(C:\WINDOWS\system32\fxsext32.dll) cannot be loaded and has been disabled by
Outlook. Please contact the Add-in manufacturer for an update. If no update
is available, please uninstall the Add-in.
I cannot find the Add-in. I have not installed any fax software. I have
read many threads on this that all end up in dead ends.
Further, when then trying to send emails with attachments I get the
following error: "Task 'mail.pentel.net - Sending' reported error
(0x80042109) : 'Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server.
If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator
or Internet service provider (ISP).'

If I delete the email with attachment from the Outbox and then send a new
email without attachment, it sends OK.

As I said, I have seen MANY threads on this that are all dead ends. Does
anyone know what is happening with Vista and Outlook 2007. I know this is a
Vista link because I have an identical laptop with Windows XP and Outlook
2007 that does not have this problem.

Frank - the common thread with all of the posts re fxsext32.dll is VISTA, not
Outlook. The problem has been noted with Outlook 2000, 2003, and 2007 with
Vista. Given this, do you think I should look in Outlook message boards for
a solution to this VISTA problem? I'm a little new to this so if given the
details Outlook is the better place to look, I'll give it a try. Let me know.

I found the solution in an Outlook thread to the fax extension error but
still can't send attachments.
