Vista Permissions Nightmare 2 - Cannot Copy to my own Folder

I am extremely frustrated with Vista permissions. I am the only person who is
or ever has used my PC. But when I try to copy one of my own folders to be a
sub-folder under another one of my own folders, Vista tells me that I do not
have permission to do this. These are not system folders. They are my
folders. I have not messed around with any system settings for either system
permissions (I do not even know how to do that if I wanted to) or for either
of these folders nor their parent folders. I have successfully moved other
files and folders.

How in the world do I get permission on my own PC to move my own folders?

For single users on their own PC, Vista permissions are an absolute nightmare.

I have a bit more information. I was actually trying to MOVE the folder and
not COPY it. I found that if I right-clicked on it and chose COPY, I could
then PASTE that folder into the destination folder.

However, when I then went back to the folder that I had copied and tried to
delete it from its original folder, I am now told that I do not have
permission to delete my own folder.

So now the question has become: How do I get permission on my own PC to
delete my own folder?

I have deleted other folders out of this same folder with no problems.

Vista permissions really are a nightmare for a single user on their own PC.

Goto the permissions tab and check if your user name has all th
permissions for the folder

This sounds very appealing, but I am going to need more instructions about
just how to "turn that nightmare off".

I can get to the Start/Setting/Control Panel/User Accounts okay, but
precisely what do I do when I get there?

My account (which is the only account) is already set up as ADMINISTRATOR.

Where is the folder you are trying to delete? Example:
C:\Users\Documents\your-folder

I ask because it sounds like you are trying to deal with a "folder" that you
see under "Documents and Settings". Documents and Settings is only a
virtual location, a junction, there for backwards compatibility with old
software. Another possibility is that your folder is in a protected area,
such as the Windows or Program Files directory.

I opened EXPLORE ((right click on Windows button at bottom left). I then
clicked the DCOUMENTS under Favorite Links. Then I clicked the folder on the
right pane that holds the sub-folder that I am trying to delete. Then I tried
to delete that folder and received the permissions stopping me from deleting
it.

As I said, I have deleted plenty of other sub-folders from this same folder
in this same way without any problems.

I have now found a way to delete the folder!! I first went in and deleted
the two sub-folders of that folder. They deleted okay, and once they were
deleted, I tried deleting their parent folder (the folder that I wanted to
delete all along) and this time there were no Vista permission problems.

The bottom line is that Vista is making things far more complicated than
they need to be on this PC. It is my PC and I do not need Vista to protect me
from myself with files and folders that I have created myself.
