Prior to SP1 certain programs would not/could not save or change files in
c:\program files. Since SP1 they can. What did SP1 do to change this?

Thank you.

My friend, Windows has done mutiple fixes in its service pack including
fixing the 3Gigs or higher managment for notebook computers from which you
couldn't even install the hotfix that they put out. If you are having any
issues with files prior to SP1 and have installed SP1 and have other issues,
I recommend a clean install and then installing SP1. This fixed a heap of
problems that I have had with memory managment and also driver compatibility.
