Indeed, since the real Vista SP1 is at *least* 8 months away, any "SP1"
that is floating around today is more a pre-alpha, not a "pre-beta".

As if I'm not confused are lol most Betas which SP1 will soon be--the
pre-Beta fan boys and girls leaked it. Betas are rumored to have bugs and I
do believe Sinofsky forced PMS and Developers and Testers on hundreds of
Vista teams to just boot it out the door with a large number of them that
still exist and won't be corrected with SP1.

It's called life in 2007 with Torrents. Torrents will soon be a major part
of legititmate software delivery, music, movies, and whatever on every
mobile device imaginable.

No actually it is pre-Beta although the terms are arbitrary. LOL Pre-Alpha
is an interesting concept. That'd be what's been on developer PCs at the
Redmond campus for the last two years as they saw Sinofsky was making them
shove Vista out the door with many many things not fixed.

There aren't any earthshaking components to "write home about" in XP SP1
however, but I think the inclusion of Win RE for all from the benevolent
MSFT is significant since they leaned on and got every OEM named partner
with the exception of Dell not to ship an OS DVD.
