The delete function is defective in that it fails
some betaware I really need to remove.

I tried deleting it piece by piece and that action failed to remove
many
files and is hugely time consuming.

Is there some way of piggybacking another operating system on to
the hard disk to do delete operations as Vista is a malware?

I don't have a copy of XP, if I did I just go XP and junk Vista.
Could I piggyback Windows 98 to delete files on the HD?

This a serious defect. Would a Mac be better or would it have
all this toxic consumer controls for the consumers "protection"
that are apparently buried in Vista.

I am at the point of seriously desiring to replace this OS.
I've relatively modern 2 CPU computer.
Suggestions.

I've already been forced to start up my decade old computer
to do real work. Vista is really sad.

I just download it on your advice. It looks like the golden ticket.
I'll post a follow up tommorrow when I had time to try it.

What happened was I downloaded a beta version of Openoffice 3.0 and
delete function refused to delete. I was wanting to install
a older stable version of OpenOffice 2.4 but it insisted I remove
the beta first. If I can use OpenOffice with
a Publisher program my writing needs should be covered.

up all the bits and bytes left after uninstalling

Unlocker did the trick. It deleted enough that
the other delete function cleared the last bit blocking
my mounting of version of OpenOffice 2.4 on to
computer.

I'll check CCleaner out.

Thanks
