Vista Problems Please help.

I have AMD64 athlonx2 5000 dualcore processor, with windows vista
service pack 1,

I am having problems shutting down, it wont shut down unless i hold the
button, I can't access my norton internet security to run a virus check
and when i do it doesn't do it it just freezes, and it is up to date,
and when i open up mozilla,IE, or opera, i get a message saying
globalroot\systemroot\system32\msivxcqekhvopdbxsjk hyxfwrsyqtuixyjrbf.dll,
i also tried to install service pack 2, but it was unable to install due
to the restarting process, plz help.

Your computer is severely infected.

Go through these general malware removal steps systematically -

Include scanning with David Lipman's Multi_AV and follow instructions to do
all scans in Safe Mode. Please see the special Notes regarding using

When all else fails, get guided help. Choose one of the specialty forums
listed at the first link. Register and read its posting FAQ. PLEASE DO NOT
POST LOGS IN THE MS NEWSGROUPS.

If you can't do the work yourself (and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea), take the machine to a professional computer repair
shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). Please be
aware that not all local shops are skilled at removing malware and even if
they are, your computer may be so infested that Windows will need to be
clean-installed. If possible, have all your data backed up before you take
the machine into a shop.

I'm not sure if i resolved the problem,but it's seems everything is
working fine. I rebooted with the F11 key in the beginning, than used
registrybooster and speedupmypc 2009,than my Norton security starting
working, and I launched a full scan, and found a virus and extracted,
and than install service pack 2, and now everything is running proper,
and shutting down correctly. and now the internet browsers are opening
up with out errors.

If you value your system, you'll stop using "registrybooster" and
"speedupmypc" before one or the other screws it up.

I agree with Manny Weisbord about the registry scans. And we are not alone
:-)

It might also be a good idea to scan your system once more with your
antivirus software, and also again using other free online antivirus scans.
I say this because I suspect that you could still have undetected malware.

I don't remember which antivirus companies have those scans, sorry - but
maybe someone else will mention some. But stick to the famous companies,
AVG, Avast, Norton, McAfee, et all - don't use an unknown online virus
scan!

Really. Vista doesn't need whatever those are said to be able to do
(according to whoever is selling them).

The term "snake oil" is commonly used by most of us when referring to
such programs.

this is what i was told to do from Michael Murphy.

Spybot Search & Destroy 1.6.2 is a very good, FREE Anti-Spyware
Program.
Download, install, update, and immunize your System with it.
Then SCAN with it.

_Important_re:_Safe_Mode_
If you happen to find a problem that you can’t uninstall /
delete, reboot the computer, and go into Safe Mode.
To get into Safe mode, tap F8 right at Power On / Startup, and use UP
arrow key to get to Safe Mode from list of options, then hit ENTER.
RESCAN your computer with your Anti-Virus, Malwarebytes and Spybot S &
D while in Safe Mode.

_If_unable_to_install_above_Programs_in_Normal_Mod e:_
Sometimes Trojans, Viruses, Malware, etc stop you installing and/or
updating Programs to remove them.
If that happens, reboot into Safe Mode with Networking (from F8 list
of Startup Options), and install, update and scan from there."

So far it is running normal, i just hope i am still not infected.
