Vista RC1 and game compatibility

I installed Vista RC1 on our old computer to try it out and set it up with
two user accounts, both marked as "administrator". My hubby tried to install
one of his games and Vista blocked the driver for it, so I went to the games
site to see if there were any updates and there weren't. Then uninstalled
the game and tried to re-install it using the compatibility "wizard"-- it
gave an error saying that it couldn't access the "autorun.exe" or
"setup.exe". so now I am trying to install the game again, then will try to
play the game using the compatibility thing, as the game says its compatible
with windows 2000/XP only. Game: Rainbow Six, Lockdown-- ubisoft (ubi.com)
Question: Waste of time? Have to wait for a new version or fix from the
game or should the compatibility thing work?

Most games that were made for XP should run on vista
here's a list of what I have had running on vista
F.E.A.R
Doom3
Quake4 and Quake3
Grand Theft Auto San Andreas
Ice Age
These are the games I've tested on Vista and they ran just fine
If it is a UAC issue causing your game not to run then switching off UAC may
help
if it is something with the game then I suggest you post this question in
the vista games newsgroup

When trying to run the game now, I get this:

Lockdown.exe has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close
the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Then when I close that box, I get a very lengthy notepad doc on my desktop,
that I assume is something like a log file, entitled "Lockdown.crash -
notepad"

At a loss here-- I don't play the game myself, but hubby will be very
dissappointed with the retail of Vista if he can't play his games, or if he
has to buy all new ones.

Try playing with the Compatability modes, right click on the shortcut to
the game, select properties, then compatability tab. In particular, Run
As Administrator, but some of the others may help.
