Vista will read 8GB SDHC, but not 4GB MicroSDHC

Hey guys.

Basically what the title says. I have an 8GB SDHC card that is read
perfectly fine through the SD slot in my laptop, but whenever I put my
4GB micro SDHC card into the adapter and then into the SD slot, it won't
read it (the adapter DOES work... I also have a micro 2GB SD card that
works perfectly fine through the adapter).

Anyone have any suggestions? I looked everywhere but all people say is
"your hardware doesn't support it." Well my hardware supports it, so
not too sure where to go from here.

Thanks!

Everything seems to be pointing at that card, hmm?

Do you have another sdhc card to try in the adapter - it's possible the
adapter is not hc compliant.

Well like the title says, my laptop works perfectly fine with my 8GB
SDHC card (not micro). It does not work with my micro 4GB SDHC card.
So it is SDHC compatible... Is it just not micro SDHC compatible?

Like the people seem to be implying, the micro adapter looks to be at
fault. Try one that came with a micro SDHC card, rather than with a
micro SD card...

That's the first thing I tried: using the adapter that came with th
micro SDHC card.

I'm about to just go and buy a more expensive SD card I think...

I understand what you said. You also indicated that the micro sd adapter
worked with the 2gb micro sd card but not with the 4gb micro sdhc card.
That implies to me the possibility that the micro adapter may be sd but
not sdhc compliant.

Hmm. There is some oddity there. I wonder if there's a problem in the
SD slot's implementation in hardware or software...

I have no useful ideas to offer, sorry.
