Since you provided no detail of your issues - or asked for any help here
prior to making your decision then I fail to see the point of your post
here.
Also this is just a repeat post of the one you made to the general group and
is also off topic for this groups purpose.
Maybe if you had sought help earlier and posted to the appropriate group you
would have had a better experience.

I have a version of MSDOS 1.0 if you would like to revert back a little
further. That windows stuff will never catch on anyway.

Your experience is not what most people have had when purchasing a
machine with Vista on it. Maybe you were unable, or unwilling, to
recognize the differences and how a new OS always has growing pains
but i nthe end is where we will all be going. If in the future you
decide to try a new OS, please be a little slower to pull the trigger
as the cutting edge does not seem to be for you.
BTW, this group is about passwords, not your personal experiences.
There are other groups where if you had asked for help you would have
rec'd it.

The better solution would have been to return the computer while still
within the return period.
However now that time has probably passed and your options are fewer.

It is probable there are solutions to most of your problems.
If you had posted the specifics of your problem perhaps some or all
could have been quickly resolved.

What did Toshiba say when you asked about the specific issues you had
with their computer?

I'm heading back to fry's today for a full refund. Microsoft indeed
hit a wall with Vista.

Definitely go ahead and return if it is not suitable.
Part of the reason for the liberal return policy for Microsoft
products.

What is a "free" gift ? Aren't all gifts free?

Check the laws applicable in your area.
Contact Microsoft in your region.
Also check with the seller about return policies preferably before
purchasing, as you would with any purchase at that price.
