Vista - Realtek Drivers 80070103 Error - Why?

I understand I can simply get rid of this problem by hiding the update, which
is fine, but why doesn't windows recognise that it already has newer drivers
installed for this card and remove it from the optional windows updates, like
for nVidia, and every other piece of hardware in my PC.

I dunno, why doesn't it?
