Vista reboots while starting to complete the install...

Hello everyone, like the subject says...every time it starts to load..it reboots and then gives me an error message stating windows has encountered an unexpected errror...and then I click ok, reboots and does the same thing over again! I am out of ideas. I just downloaded the copy from Microsoft today (filename: vista_5600.16384.060829-2230_x86fre_client-lr1cfre_en_dvd). Any help will be appreciated!

System confing: Athlon XP 2100+/1GB/Radeon 9600Pro/using older 20GB HD to demo vista/Gigabyte motherboard

My suggestion:
1) Remove all add-on hardwares such as sound controller, ethernet
interface card, etc. except a display adapter card, then try installing
WVT. If intallation still fails, then
2) Make a new bootable DVD rom from the downloaded ISO file and try it
again.
