Vista restart power issue, monitor won't respond.

So my dad built me a computer for my 20th birthday/xmas present

Everything's awesome except whenever I restart, turn off, put in slee
mode, and then try to turn back on, the monitor does not get a signal
The monitor is a NEC 90gx2
I've gotten it to work twice after that by turning off the power suppl
on the computer and waiting an hour or so then it starts back up in saf
mode. Now I can't get it to start back up with the monitor working s
I'm kinda stuck

My computer has 3.1GHz dual-core AMD processor, 4GB of memory, 1.5TB o
disk storage, and an ATI Radeon X1900. I'm running vista ultimate, 6
bit I THINK. I don't know too much about computers, just trying to ge
my gaming machine back up. Any help is very much appreciated, thanks

Hi,

Try reseating and/or replacing the video card. Even new hardware can be
faulty.
