I tried these, but still the same problem occurs. Also the system restor
shows only restore points below 15 day

now when i select the _sleep_mode_, the system directly goes t
_shutdown_ and then _restarts_ immediately

I have the exact same problem. I am getting tired of this Vista Piece
of CRAP ! I wish I could reload XP without losing all my
software ....
MS really screwed up with this Vista BULL. I can go on and on about
all the problems but I am sure everyone knows about them.
sheesh !!! No wonder MAC's are selling like hot cakes...

Hi benoy

If it was working OK previously, system restore to the point before yo
got the problem may be the answer - if you can go back 15 days is tha
enough

Hope it help

Me too! Have Vista Home Prem 32bit on Dell Inspiron laptop. Close lid i
set to Sleep; have tried Restore; have reset all Power settings; is se
for High Performance, Programs, Always On; but still, SOMETIMES when
click Start/Sleep the darned-fool OS does a complete RESTART instea
and, in addition, it thinks something went wrong and wants me to choos
from the Startup options (you know, Safe Mode vs Normal). This i
OBVIOUSLY some kind of glitch within Vista, whether just HP 32bit or no
I don't know, or whether Vista OEM or not I don't know, but at leas
Toshiba and Dell have been mentioned in the threads on this very issue
PLEASE, I beg of you, PLEASE DO NOT suggest something so simple as goin
to Control Panel, neither on the System nor the Power Options categorie
since those of us who are repeatedly experiencing this problem hav
ALREADY BEEN THERE, DONE THAT again and again and again and agai
and................

In Control Panel choose Problem Reports and Solutions (type problem in
Start's searchbox), go to Problem History, right click your error and choose
Check For Solution. You can also examine the details.

In Administrative Tools choose Reliability and Performance Monitor and
choose MonitoringTools then Reliability Monitor (type Reliability in search
on Start) . This list is a chart of software installs, uninstalls, Windows
updates, and crashes by date. See if your crashes started happening after
you installed or uninstalled something.

Post the dmp file (the name you get from the problem's details) to a file
hosting site. Then we can download and analyse it.

It may help to rule out hardware faults

Type memory in Start's search box and choose Memory Diagnostic

In a command prompt (type command in Start's search box then right click and
choose Run As Administrator) type

chkdsk c: /r

If you have more than one drive replace C: with the other drive letter.

Also test memory with Memory Diagnostics (type memory in Start's search
box).

You may wish to do clean boot
