Vista running OK for me. Can someone help?

My problem is that Vista is running for me with no issues and I cannot get it
to fail.

Looking at the posts here, there are too many choices and I need some help
getting started. It appears the best strategies are:

* use my old unsupported hardware
* use video drivers and applications not designed/certified/supported for
Vista
* upgrade from <insert previous OS here>
* assume I know more than Microsoft and start disabling and tweaking core
features
* use vLite
* buy a dell

I was able to download and get Ubuntu to fail quite quickly so I want to
move on to an OS that works out of the box. I'm hoping some of the people
that post regularly here that tell what a terrible operating system Vista is
can share their personal experiences on why it doesn't work for them instead
of links to random blogs so I can learn their secrets. The few minor issues
I've had so far were resolved by SP1, so I'm back to square one on getting
Vista to fail. (And yes, Andre, I know where the SP1 forum is located so you
don't need to post a link.)

I know I should wait until "work" hours to post this so I can get immediate
feedback from the board regulars, but this issue really can't wait.

Thanks in advance. Flame on, bitches!

Windows Vista is not a failure at all, it can't be simply because it uses
the same principles as previous versions of Windows so things such as a
learning curve is very limited. I personally have Vista running on multiple
hardware configurations and I have had a great experience across the board.
There is no doubt, Vista experienced a bit of hardware device driver
stability issues from the RTM release, but that has been pretty much ironed
out since early last year.

Here are some of my configs;

Dell 8300 Dimension
3.2 GHz P4
2.6 GBs of RAM
nVidia Geforce FX 5200 128 MB
Vista Ultimate x86 Edition

Generic home built system
1.6 GHz Sempron
512 MBs of RAM
nVidia Geforce FX 5200 128 MB
Vista Business x64 Edition

Acer Ferrari 5000
Dual core 2.0 GHz Turion
2 GBs of RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon x1600 256 MB

I have been running these systems with Vista since November/December 2006
and I have not experienced the type of issues (propaganda) started by
individuals who's ultimate aim (no pun intended) each day is to simply talk
negative information when they have not spent quality time themselves with
the system.

We must understand Windows Vista is still new, new versions of Windows are
known to do that, 2000 did it, XP did it.

old hardware should not be unsupported. I can see why some new hardware
might be.

So, answer is simple - never upgrade.

LOTS of people apparently know more than MS.

It is no major task to get anything to fail. Most users with a room
temperature IQ and the ability to read have no difficulty with Linux.

Mr. PeeNutts..

its easy to be tricked into thinking your computer is working well

but have you

1) compared the speed of your computer using the competitor product (XP)?
2) Used your computer for more than just fooling around like a monkey, by
installing
say the top 200 programs that people use (and by the way claim vista
compatibility)
to see how horrible vista handles them?

also I would like you to take a laptop with vista, and go from home to home
and ask those people if they are thinking of installing vista. IF THEY SAY
YES, then I would like you to try to plug in their peripherals like
scanners, printers, other USB devices, and TV cards...

then I would like you to give them a list of all the things they will have
to throw away in order to get new ones that work with vista..

Then I would like you to write them a check for all the new devices they
will have to buy...

Then do the same with the professional programs they might be using that are
no longer "vista compatible" and need costly upgrades.

Oh you are an idiot... a big idiot.. an idiot of vista proportions!
