Vista screensaver and sleep mode

I have an HP computer with a wireless mouse and keyboard. Is it normal that
when the screensaver is setup to run that it won't let my computer go into
sleep mode? Also when computer is in sleep mode and I move my mouse it will
wake up computer and monitor, but then the mouse pointer freezes on screen.
I have to use the shut down button and restart computer. Thanks

Hi Risk the answer is No, it is not normal. I use screensavers and they don't
hinder the sleep function. It is normal for the mouse to wake the computer,
but not freeze. There is , in effect, something wrong. Unfortunately I don
really know where to steer you. I hope you get other, more informative
replies as to how to remedy the situation. Gary
