I tried to go back to Vista search just for the heck of it today, have 2 WRI
(writepad), 1 DOC, 1 TXT, 1 PDF files containing "103" string in them, Vista
found only PDF.
Beyond ridiculous. I hate Vista Search more than Microsoft Bob, ohh and
don't tell me about Query syntaxis - never bring this subject again.
I know mere than you imagine & queries are entered correctly. Several days
ago it found a DOC file I think, but not TXT, there's no logic to this
behavior.
You have to click "advanced" EVERYTIM - an extra click over WidnowsXP, but
it's not the worst, here's the worst:
You have to wait until it's done with filenames search, to proceed to search
file contents, so if you got 160,000 files as I do in Autodesk Inventor2010
folder (it's a 24GB software), I have to wait until I am dead to proceed to
file contents search?
SHAME ON VISTA, an OS supposed to replace WinXP is worse than XP in several
aspects, and farnkly search is one of the critical OS functions.
So back to MythicSoft 'FileLocatorPro" which cost me $money, instead of free
as used to be in WinXP.
