Go to this link to make it available on windows update. I will b
installing it sometime tonight. This gives you 3 files that you extrac
to a folder and run the .bat. You check windows update after this an
after downloading and rebooting for a couple updates, SP1 is displaye
for download. *Remember that there may not be a notice, but after th
2nd and/or 3rd patch before seeing SP1 you need to reboot before th
next stage will show up when you select Check for Updates

Hi NotAGuru,

Yes, Windows Vista SP1 RC is time-limited software. Windows Vista SP1
RC will no longer operate after June 30, 2008 and should be uninstalled
prior to that date. See the Warning at the top of the tutorial link
above.

i need help installing this. i get a error code when the bar is filled up.
some body help.

Other's advie is very good: Install this pnly on a test computer. This is a
"release candidate." It's not final software. I know we all want solutions
to problems we're having with Vista (self included), but it's better to be
patient (wait for the real release). Just my advice...

Let this forum know if this helps or if you figure out the problem, so
others can benefit. As far as I know the "notify me of replies"
does not work, so do not count on this feature.

Hi everyone!
Does anyone know if SP1 address a refresh issue with the search
function and the DVD drive? Only little issue I got with Vista is I
gotta reboot when I insert a CD/DVD into my DVD drive in order for
windows to refresh itself. Thanks
