Vista Shut Down Question

Vista Ultimate SP1. When I shut down my computer it goes from the desktop to
the blue-green Vista shut down screen, blinks, goes back to my desktop screen
and then does a normal shut down. How do I prevent going back to the desktop
again? Not a problem, just annoying.

My Response Would be if it isn't broke don't fix it
Alternatively you could just contact Windows
