Vista SP1 and Outlook 2007

Has anyone had any problems with Service Pack slowing down Outlook 2007
trying to connect to an exchange server like it has on my work PC? Or as on
my home PC stopping or making the RPC over HTTP connection unbelievably slow
if it works at all?

One time Outlook did hang and I got a report back Microsoft saying i needed
to install the latest updates for office. So I've installed service pack 1
and it's still really really slow.



Works fine on my XP PC though and prior to install Vista's Service Pack 1

Probably not relevant, but I use a 'long wire' to connect to my router, way
out there at 90+ meters, and it seems I had to go to half duplex on the
Properties of the ethernet card (speed tab) to let the system learn how to
handle it. Going back to full duplex a few days later held the fix. Don't
have any idea why this was true. Couldn't hurt to test your results with
this.

It's over a wireless connection at home. I'll try it with a cable this
evening and see if it makes any difference.. Maybe if outlook works on the
cable the wireless may start working properly again after that.. Who knows,

According to the description, this seems to be a performance issue.

Before we move on, please collect some information for the further analysis.

Information Needed:
======================

1. Do this issue happen on the problematic computer though both wire
network and wireless network? Does the system always hang or it just hang
when the computer connect to the internet with wireless?

2. Where are the computers? If they are wireless does the problem only
happen in some buildings or locations? In other words is the hang tied to
the physical location of the computer (both logically on the network and
physically)?

3. How big is the mailbox & OST File? In the mailbox, go to Tools ->
Mailbox Cleanup and click "View Mailbox Size"

4. Do you apply "User Cached Exchange Mode" with Outlook 2007 on the
problematic PC?

5. Do you also experience slow network access issue when you access UNC
share or IE after Vista SP1 is installed?

Analysis and Suggestions:
=========================

1. Remove all the third party software.

2. Turn off the SuperFetch feature of Windows Vista and Windows Search
services on the problematic computer.

3. Please disable the Cached Exchange Mode in Outlook 2007 on the
problematic computer.

a.Click Tools on the menu
b.Select "Account Setting¡*"
c.Double-click the e-mail address under the tab of "E-mail"
d.Unselect the checkbox of "Use Cached Exchange Mode"

4. Please run "Netsh int tcp show global" on the problematic computer to
check the "Receive-Side Scaling State".

If Receive-Side Scaling is enabled, network sometimes will be slow or
stable, you may perform the following steps to disable it to test again.

a.Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.

b.Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Tcpip\Parameters

c.On the Edit menu, point to New, click DWORD Value, and then type
EnableRSS.

d.Double-click EnableRSS, type 0, and then click OK.

e.Restart the computer on which you changed the EnableRSS value.

After that, please check whether the situation will reoccur.
