For those that are curious about what is going to be included in the Vista Beta SP1 which will be released when ready you can take a look from this white paper from Microsoft

Mostly PR and vaporware.

Much of what is promised is what was promised to be in Vista to begin with
and ain't.
What miracles could Microsoft have discovered since February that they
couldn't figure out in the 5 years they were incubating this turkey's eggs?

In addition to fundamental issues like disk access, program/driver
compatibility, confused administrator privilege structure, UAC et al the
arbitrary interface changes Microsoft made to Vista, as they do with every
"new" OS just to reinforce its newness, are generally counterproductive but
changing these will disrupt the bad habits formed by those few who somehow
find Vista usable.

The only way Microsoft is going to force Vista down corporate and non-newie
throats is to cut off support for Vista. That will rank with Apple's ongoing
policy of not releasing its OS for any x86 box as among the dumbest
corporate decisions in history.

Vista has accomplished the near impossible feat of making an Apple box look
attractive despite the ultrapremium cost Apple charges for mediocre
hardware.

It says nothing there about actually fixing any of the many
dismal^h^h^h^h^h^hstupid problems.

It is making Apple look appealing, at least whenever XP quits working.

i have read your post on sp1 and looked at the white paper you supplied the
link to ,don't you think that 7gig(x86)12gig(x64)is a bit excessive for a
sevice pack?
