Hi
Running Vista Business SP1, we cannot swicth off Windows Automatic update.
Normally we use WSUS by GP.
When i try to change it - even though it is all greyed out - it nsays IO
msut be an admin to change it. I am logged in as an admin.
Confused!
TIA
Lewej

I'm confused, nothing new <w>
If the system is getting the updates via WSUS using GP, then why do you
want to disable Windows Update ?

How to configure automatic updates by using Group Policy or registry
settings

If you have group policy configuring the client to use Automatic Updates via
your WSUS server, you will not be able to turn it off from the control panel.
You would need to change the group policy settings, or prevent the GPO in
question from applying to the client.

In this context, this means you must be able to administer the group policy
coming from the domain.

Harry.
