Vista SP1 crash

I tried to install SP1. It seemed to run OK, but on the first re-start, the
screen runs thorugh the files. Mine stops at InputPersonalization.exe with an
error 0xc0190036 Windows the will not start up in any mode. I had to run
system restore from the installation disc to go back to before I ran SP1.

Has anyone else seen this, or have any idea what causes the hang?
