Vista SP1 failed

I was downloading vistas SP1 at windows update and when it finished it said
the download failed and now whenever i click the install button it gives me
error code 800704C8. Do i need to delete the temporary update files or
something like that, and if so how do i do this?

Please clarify your post: Did Windows Update offer you Vista SP1 or did you
attempt to install it manually after downloading the installer?

Putting 800704C8 in the Google search window turns up some links, like

If you click on that link, you will find an explanation of how he found the
service that was causing the SP1 installation to fail - a non-Microsoft program.
When he disabled that service, Vista's SP1 installed without fuss.
