Vista SP1 RC1 Official Update Fails @ 12%

I went to technet and downloaded the legit registy edit to allow Windows
Update to download SP1 RC1.

Through Windows Update, I downloaded and installed all of the necessary
KB's that popped up.

I was shown that the SP1 was available to download in windows update and
would be between 120.0 MB and 965 MB...I went to download (121.6), but it
fails @ 12%. Any tips would be appreciated.

FWIW, I *always* run chkdisk /f and sfc /scannow from an administrator's
command prompt, run disk cleanup, before attempting a download of a
significant upgrade like SP1 RC candidates.

I tried your suggestions, but unfortunately this did not work. I hope this
is not the case to Vista SP1 RTM.
