Vista SP1 Update went smoothly

After waiting a month for Microsoft Update to offer me SP1 (it never
did, and I never figured out why), with a bit of help from Microsoft
Suupport I downloaded and installed the stand-alone version.

The installation went absolutely smoothly, taking about one and a half
hours. It is now up-and-running, and everything in my system is
performing flawlessly.

So for those of you waiting to be offered SP1, I suggest you go the
stand-alone route. It's not a small download--434 MB--but if you have
the room on your drive, go for it!
