Vista SP1: Weak Performance File Operations and Remote Desktop Access

Hi,

I'm running Vista 32 bit since about one year, I've updated it to SP1 a
month ago and it is still very slow. My computer is a Lenovo X61 Tablet with
Intel Core Duo and 4 GB RAM.

Vista decreased my productivity since this time extremly. Since I am
consultant I stick with software, but it really hinders me working. Is there
any solution to improve
Performance for File Operations, Remote Desktop Access, etc.?

If you do not have a ReadyBoost flash dive or card installed I suggest that
you install a 4GB one.

I'd already tested this, but the performance is still weak and it occurs
with both local and network access.

Any other thought, except "upgrading" to XP, which any suggests me?

How long did you test with ReadyBoost?
It took me about two weeks rebooting every other day before I got the full
benefit.

Hi,

a couple of month or so. It's really not a caching issue. All network
accesses are damn slow. Any thought?

much more than two weeks (8 GB High Speed SD Card/FAT32). Any other thought.

Does task manager show any processes using a lot of CPU power?
How is your network configured?
Did the system come with Vista or did you upgrade it from XP last year?
Do you have file indexing implemented on your system?
