Vista SP1 - Windows Update

Hi,
Everything I read said to wait until the automatic Windows Update says SP1
is ready and to backup before installing. Well last Wednesday, my windows
update finely list it to update. But I wasn't ready. I had not done my
backups yet and was over busy with work and could not afford to have down
time. Yesterday I backed up an image and cleaned up stuff. This morning I
came in to start the Windows Update to install the SP1.

My windows update doesn't list it, It is gone. I had Windows Update check
for updates again to get it back. Still nothing.

How do I get Windows Update to list SP1 update again and why did it
disappear from my list?

Windows Vista Service Pack 1 is not available for installation from Windows
Update and is not offered by Automatic Updates:

Microsoft should make up their mind. I also have been reading that SP1
would be offered as an update. Now they say it won't be.
