Vista Speech Recog, How to select text?

Hi folks,
I'm dictating letters using the speech recognition in Vista and MS
Word. However, I'm having a lot ofg trouble correcting errors and am
having to use the keyboard.

Example:
I say "The building will be completed in September."
It types "The building will be complicated in September."

So I read the "Common commands in speech recognition" in the help, and
it says to say "Select 'word'"
I say "Select complicated"
It now reads "The building will be complicated in September. Select
complicated"

What am I doing wrong??
