YES
That's one of the real problems. If that is not checked then I can't choose Normal startup" under "General" tab in MSConfig. If I check that I want "Normal Startup" then it by itself choose "Safeboot" under "Boot" tab. This means that I can never choose a "normal startup" If I choose the safe boot not checked then it starts up "kind of" correct but takes away a lot of programs that are being blocked from starting. EVEN when taking away these programs from the automatic startup then it complaints about the MSConfig (System Configuration) program??? That I really don't get because that is Microsoft's own and that of all should be permitted to run or??? I upgraded to Vista Ultimate through MS Digital locker and so far I've been
unable to figure out a way to access my download. It's unclear to me why I didn't make a backup except that I assumed I could re-download later. I'll keep trying to get back my Vista Ultimate because it makes the most sense. If you have any other ideas, I'll take 'em gratefully. Thanks, Bob "Andre Da Costa[ActiveWin]" wrote: > Have you tried repairing your Startup? Thats one of the Chicken egg situations with Digital Locker, how will you
preserve data if you downloaded Vista and upgrade to it on the same situation. Howdy yall, occasionally my vista laptop starts in safe mode, which is
incredibly annoying. The only way i found to get out of it is to daoo amaual shutdown ( Turn off using button machine) and selecting normal mode form the options that happen when it reboots. Thanks guys! To use msconfig helped me. I've been using microsoft OS's for years and never had this problem. So, my question is what is the reason that it happened? Is it somethin I've downloaded - no, I have a reliable antivirus. Does anybody have an answer for it? /Zyber Peter Foldes;248582 Wrote: > Have you checked Msconfig\BOOT.INI if Safeboot in not checked > > -- > Peter > > Please Reply to Newsgroup for the benefit of others > Requests for assistance by email can not and will not be acknowledged. > > "Lene" <> wrote in messag > news:3E6239D9-5A14-400E-B19A-... > > Hi there > > > > I've searched the net fro info about this but I just don't get an > wiser. > > > > Here's the story. > > ... deleted because of lack of plac |

After trying System Restore from safe mode, with original DVD too, trie to check boot process with sfc and with DVD too, next solution wa successful, I opened msconfig and in Boot tab, I haved unchecked Safe Mode. But i the Genereal tab, the boot type was automatically switched to Selectiv startup. When I checked Normal startup here, on the Boot tab i automatically checked Safe Mode. So I unchecked Safe mode and checke Make all boot settings permanent, Applied settings and in the Genera tab was automatically selected Normal startup and after restart i works.
