Running Vista business with all fixes on a hp compaq 6715b laptop
Have had my canon ip3000 usb printer for a few years
It always works faultlessly
Suddenly, without having made any changes to software, my printer wont
print
However, I do get a message which I don't understand
"service layer module stopped working and was closed" which I wouldn't
mind some help on

Re printer
It says it's offline
Tried rebooting
turning the printer on and off
plugging and unplugging the usb cable
also in different ports
downloaded and installed vista printer driver from canon
etc etc
no joy

Canon's website seems almost useless in this regard

Any ideas?

Have you tried another printer. Vista has some problems with USB and I had
to reinstall Vista to clear up the problems. This doesn't seem to apply to
your situation.
